Metroid Abyss - Samus Aran

I've had this idea to make some Metroid fanart for years now, and I finally found myself with some free time to work on it. This is the first of several designs I hope to make related to this project. Here's my redesign for Samus Aran, specifically her Varia suit. I was keen to draw from all her previous versions of this suit, as this story would take place after Dread. I tried some new techniques with this one, quite happy with how it turned out!

Many thanks to the lovely people in the r/chozolanguage community who helped me with ideas for the emblem on her chest. Also thanks to @Noababoa on twitter for making Samus redesigns so good it inspired me to do my own! I was originally only thinking of making a Metroid design for this project, but after seeing their beautiful work I was truly inspired.
